Steven Bangerter is a New York based artist, performer, and choreographer. Toured Serbia, Macedonia, and Belgium as a dancer for the American Folk Dance Ensemble and as a principle percussionist for the NEOJIBA orchestra in Salvador, Brazil. Steve is a contemporary choreographer and collaborator who distills pivotal events into bite-sized dance formats. Whether humorous or melancholy, story-driven or non-linear, he approaches his work with a spirit of laughter, creativity, and curiosity. Steve invites dancers and non-dancers to join him in the artistic process, and believes the answer is always in the rehearsal room. Musicians, designers, writers are frequently integrated and emphasized throughout his collaborative journey.
